The search for love, our need for it and the power of it, is apparent in lots of Mackenzie Thrope’s artwork, not just the more symbolically obvious images, and his Gathering Love painting is certainly one of those images where love and hope feature prominently.

Mackenzie talks about how the feelings deep within him are used to inspire what he puts down on paper, finding the right colours that represent that feeling before expressing it in the picture. In Gathering Love Mackenzie is trying to communicate the importance of giving away love to make the world a better place.
