Last weekend, Mackenzie headed to Lake Tahoe for a very special exhibition at Marcus Ashley Gallery.
Not only was it a chance to catch up with collectors and meet new faces, but Mackenzie was able to share a collection of new work, with some pieces being shown for the very first time.
There’s always something exciting about seeing a new piece leave the studio for the first time. For Mackenzie, it’s the moment when something that has existed in his head, on the page or in the studio finally gets to meet the people it was made for…. months in the making!
Collectors came along to meet Mackenzie, explore the new work and spend time with some familiar favourites too. As always, the conversations were just as important as the artwork itself … hearing what people see in a piece, what it reminds them of and, sometimes, the personal story that made them fall for it in the first place.
The new pieces were a chance to see where Mackenzie’s creativity is taking him next, while still feeling very much connected to the themes that have always been at the heart of his work… love, friendship, family, connection and those little moments that stay with us.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Marcus Ashley Gallery over the weekend, and to the wonderful team there for giving Mackenzie such a warm welcome, as always.
It was a brilliant few days, and we’re so excited to see these new pieces beginning their journey with collectors.
